In the summer of 1978, visitors to the Coimbatore hardware and sanitary market noticed cute little boxes, embossed with the words “Manufactured in India by Sharp.” With it began an era of marketing branded Monobloc Water Pumps in India, leading in 1986, to the formation of Sharp Pumps Pvt. Ltd.

Mr. K. K. Ramachandran – Chairman
Born in 1943 in a South Indian agricultural family, Mr. K. K Ramachandran graduated in commerce and took to the manufacturing of mini water pumps that set a new trend in the Indian water pump industry. The company was christened in the 1986 as Sharp Pumps Private Limited and over the years it has grown in size, market, and stature.
Mr. K.K. Ramachandran has bagged numerous awards for his able leadership and administration. Some of them are The UDYOG RATTAN AWARD in 1993 from the Institute of Economic Studies, JAMNALAL BAJAJ AWARD for fair business practices in 1993, RAJIV GANDHI NATIONAL QUALITY AWARD in 2003 from the Council of Fair Business Practices, and Tamil Nādu Government instituted QUALITY AWARD in the years 1993 and 1994.
Mr. Kannan Ramachandran– Managing Director
Mr. Kannan Ramachandran, a Mechanical Engineering graduate, after completing his MS in Industrial Engineering at Lamar State University in Texas, took over his family business in 1997.
Soon after, he decided to diversify into various verticals including IT-Enabled Services, Waste Management Solutions, and Education.
Under his PRO-Vision leadership as the Managing Director of group companies such as Sharp Pumps Private Limited, Sharp Info Solutions Private Limited, Point Industries, and Anan EduHub Pvt. Ltd., and as Correspondent of Anan International School, the group has achieved greater domestic and international market presence.
Our brand POINT PUMPS is an established brand in the pump industry with a wide range of Domestic, Agriculture and Industrial pumps for processing liquid and solid waste.
