These pumps are suitable for handling clean water not containing abrasive particles and fluids, which are not chemically aggressive to the pump components. They are extremely reliable, light, economic and simple to use, finding many use in household applications, in particular the automatic distribution of water from surge tanks, watering gardens and for boosting insufficient main water pressure.
A regenerative pump is also called a turbine, or peripheral, pump. The impeller has vanes on both sides of the rim that rotate in a ring like channel in the pump’s casing. The fluid does not discharge freely from the tip of the impeller but is recirculated back to a lower point on the impeller diameter. This recirculation, or regeneration, increases the head developed.
Self Priming Pump
A Self Priming Pump is a pump which has been specifically designed to allow the pump to re-prime itself when under lift conditions.
These types of pumps are extremely efficient because they eliminate the need for ejector and vacuum pumps and also foot valves, which may become clogged and in turn may become impractical to use for remote or prolonged operation.
